Mie Prefecture: Kabusecha
Ise Kabusecha is produced in the northwestern region of Mie Prefecture, one of Japan’s most renowned areas for shade- grown tea. About fifteen days before harvest, the tea bushes are shaded to enhance the natural accumulation of sweetness and umami. The result is a tea with a rich, mellow flavor, pronounced sweetness, and a deep emerald-green liquor. Its smooth, full-bodied character is the hallmark of authentic Ise Kabusecha.
